At the age of 9, I discovered my artistic talent.  Growing up in Montana, I was surrounded by vast prairies and hills, mountains and lakes, with natural beauty and dramatic weather.  During the extreme cold and blizzards, I loved to sketch and paint on anything handy.  Primarily self-taught, I took as many art classes available to me in primary and high school.  In my later years, I have taken workshops and art courses in a wide variety of mediums and styles, including Decorative Painting, Acrylics, Watercolors, Pastels, Pen & Ink, Calligraphy, Colored Pencil, Graphite, and Paper Assemblage.  Now retired, I know I will find many opportunities to meet and learn from fellow artists, and become more knowledgeable and prolific in my art.  And to participate in local exhibits and venues in which to share those results!

My art is my stress reliever, my emotional outlet, my daily workout for the brain, and my voice!  Here I can share my view of the world with my community and fellow artists, always open to acquiring new skills and ways to keep those creative juices flowing.  The tight details of Pen & Ink, Colored Pencil and Graphite drawings began as my preferred mediums until I discovered the versatility and softness of Pastels...and found nirvana! Lovely landscapes, stirring seascapes, sunsets, and wondrous wildlife have found their way onto my easel.  I especially love using Pastels when I'm painting en Plein air (painting out in the environment).  Although I enjoy working in many various mediums, (Fluid Acrylics and Scratch board being my latest obsessions); Pastels will always be my favorite.
